Am feeling depressed after being off the contraceptive pill for 16 days.?
am 31 years old and have been on the contraceptive pill for 12 years. Myself and my partner are thinking to start trying for a family next year so I have come off the contraceptive pill now. The first few days were fine but now, I am a nervous wreck! I haven’t slept for 48hours, cry at everything, have become paranoid to the extend of accusing my partner of hiding money in a secret bank account so he can leave me, don’t want to leave the house, can’t be bothered to do anything ie, cook, clean, shower etc. In fact even coming on the internet was a chore, but after feeling so low I felt like running away to save my partners sanity, I thought I should seek help.

I suffered depression 10 years ago, and was put on Seroxat which I had a bad reaction too and ended up attempting suicide. I am not at that stage yet, but I know the warning signs and I am certainly heading that way!! Can coming off the pill cause this? I was on Yasmin for the last 2 years.

I live in Turkey, so the chances of getting any help from Doctors here etc is not an option as I don’t speak the language and there is no English speaking Doctors in this area.

Please help….

Seeking revenge, Hamlet recreates the monstrous deed in a play with the help of some traveling actors to torment the conscience of the evil Claudius. In a visit with his mother, Hamlet expresses his anger and disappointment concerning her swiftly untimed marriage. Thinking a concealed spy in his mother’s chamber to be the lurking Claudius, he mistakenly kills the meddling counselor, Polonius, father of Ophelia and Laertes. Claudius, on the pretext that Hamlet will be endangered by his subjects for the murder of Polonius, sends the prince to England.

Plus the funnest sports are the dangerous ones.
Snowboarding, rock climbing, wind surfing and my favorite Sky diving!!!

Skateboarding !! Just don’t do the tricks.
Golf can hit you in the Head, or break your tooth.
through some videos about sports and pick what you like.
Cherry Sweet Yummy Pie | Sep 09, 2009

The most dangerous sport ever is believe it or not, fishing since the weather is always a variable, and some idiots drink and drive their boats, and also people noodle. Boxing is pretty dangerous, but only 50 people died from 1950s~present, no clue how many are seriously injured. Life is about risks, you could spend all day doing something that is boring, but safe, but I bet when your sitting in your chair 50 years from now, you would wish that you could trade from this day to that for just one chance to do something extreme.

What is a good punishment for my seven-year old son who took something from home and gave it to his teacher?
My seven-year old son took my ring and gave it as a present to his teacher. Then he lied to me about it and only fessed up after I showed him the note I got from his teacher. I want the punishment to fit the crime, so that my child won’t do this again. I don’t think taking away TV, for example, will teach him a lesson. I can’t think of any punishment that fits with what he did. Thank you for your help!

Take away his favorite toy for a month. I think being allowed to do nothing but homework & read for the next couple of weeks would be a good idea too.
RAVEN | Feb 02, 2010

Take a toy and give it to charity.
s0LuT1oN | Feb 02, 2010

Take a toy away and give it to the shelter.
LS | Feb 02, 2010

First you need to explain to him that it is your property, not his to give away. If it was an important ring or sentimental ring, certainly explain that too. I’d also say making him do chores so he can earn the cost of the ring back could work.
Amy M | Feb 02, 2010

Isn’t this stealing and lying? How about a good spanking?
Jeff N | Feb 02, 2010

if he gets an allowance i suggest you make him save it for a few weeks and buy his teacher a present with his own money. i mean the motive for his "crime" appears to have been affection for his teacher (which is actually very sweet). of course the stealing and lying was wrong but i hope you’ll not punish him too harshly, he sounds like a nice little boy.
Cheesebrady | Feb 02, 2010

Give away his favorite possession to one of his friends.
HELP ME | Feb 02, 2010

take whatever he likes the most away for a week or however long you think is appropriate. Such as if he favorite thing is a video game…then no video games for a week,or a certain toy or something along those lines. Then let him know that taking other people’s things is not nice and wrong to do. If he wants to get his teacher a present he needs to come to you and ask if you will help him pick out a nice gift for the teacher instead of taking other people’s things and giving them to other people.
onlyme212529 | Feb 02, 2010

Dont you think theres a little more going on here than simple stealing and cheating, im guessing theres some embarrassment here on his part – and sometimes thats much harder to forget than a pusnishment anyway. If this is the first time something like this happened, i think you need to start with talking just about it.
lillilou | Feb 02, 2010

I would take something of his away for about 2 weeks & if when he asks why then explain to him that it made you sad & it was very wrong. Make sure it’s something similar in value to your ring though.
mommyto2 | Feb 02, 2010

You should both sit down and talk about it. Discuss it in a calm and collective manner. Express your feelings and explain that he meant well by giving his teacher a "present" but it was ultimately wrong to (1) take something that was not his, without asking and (2) lying about it. Just don’t get physical…. That solves nothing.

Don’t be one of THOSE mothers.
Jane | Feb 02, 2010

Maybe your son really likes his teacher and was trying to do something nice for her…I know…at your expense and he ended up doing it in an unacceptable way. I guess you should first determine why he gave it to her…was he trying to impress her (maybe a crush) or thank her? Do you think he was being spiteful for something? If he knows you are angry he may not talk about it but take a step back and find out his reason. As far as the lie…punish him the same as you normally would for the lie. But as far as the giving of the ring…I think you need more info behind the motivation…he may be embarrassed for instance that he has a crush and you can address it better once you understand what he was thinking.
JennB | Feb 02, 2010

I agree with JennB- find out why he did it and make sure he knew it was wrong. Perhaps he was just trying to be nice to his teacher. If this is common behavior, then that’s another story, but I’d talk it out with him and brainstorm ideas for how he could’ve better handled the situation (buy her a ring with his own money, write her a nice note instead…).
srobersonnc | Feb 02, 2010

Jeff is right. Lying is and stealing is bad. He needs something he’ll remember. Taking away 1 of 100 toys won’t do it. He needs a good ol fashioned spanking, and he’ll know next time, that lying and stealing is unacceptable.
VoiceofCommonSense | Feb 02, 2010

Well, taking away the tv is a good idea (unless of course if you use it for a babysitter, then I guess its bad for you)

You need to teach him about theft. You need to teach him WHY it is wrong. You need to teach him about the consequences. You should also let him know that it was a nice gesture giving his teacher a present, but he should never steal, especially a present. That if he wants to give a present but has no money, he should come to you for advice. He can do chores and whatnot so he can buy a present.Remember, he is 7.His comprehension is on a whole lower level so put it in words he will understand.

*Taking a toy away from him and giving it away will do nothing but teach him that hypocrisy is ok.NOT a good idea.

As for spanking him, that won’t teach him shit except that its ok to hit people when they steal.

I really hope you people suggesting nutty things aren’t parents!
When my children do something that shows disrespect for me, I let them be me for a day. In your shoes, I would have them do the laundry, mop floors, clean out my car, etc…and I wouldn’t make it easy. Make him work off the value of the ring. It doesn’t matter that you got it back. If an adult did that, then they would have to pay…with jail time and/or fines. Our main job is to teach our children about the real world & make it so they can live out there without us. Good for you for not being afraid to punish your child! Good luck!
My first thought is he was trying to do something nice (and I don’t know the details, obviously). He was probably embarrassed about getting caught, possibly has a crush on the teacher, and lying was all he could think to do. I think talking about it would be the main thing to focus on, figure out why he did it and his motives behind it, explain it was yours and he can give away his own things, but not yours without asking; it makes you sad and feel disrespected. Also teach that lying is not ok, you would rather have him tell the truth than hide things from you. Then perhaps right an apology letter to the teacher and have him give it directly to her while she reads it. I think the embarrassment, talking it out, and letter will be enough to deter him in the future, and taking away his things seems almost spiteful and will make him more bitter than anything. I’m sure he’s feeling guilty as is.
You need to make your discipline related to the crime…have him go to the teacher he gave the ring to, explain what he did and that it was wrong then have him return the ring to you. Also, make sure he aplogizes for his actions. Being only 7 yrs old, he is just learning about embarassment, etc…but I think if he was made to apologize for his actions, it would hit home. Some times just telling your son how very disappointed you are in him will be enough. This is just my opinon of course!
I believe punishing for something like that is not fair. He probably liked his teacher and wanted to show her that. Why punish your child when they didn’t have bad intentions. It’s like telling him that giving gifts to people is bad.

You should instead talk with him why he wanted to give your teacher the ring. You should clearly express that what he did wasn’t fair to you, and that it hurt you when he didn’t tell you truth. You should build more trust with your son. If you punish him over these things as a young child, he won’t express himself to you as a teenager because he will think everything he might do is wrong and will avoid being punished by keeping secrets.

It’s much better to develop a trust-worthy relationship so one day he can tell you the truth if something is going to hurt him. You can’t think of a punishment because you know he didn’t do anything terribly wrong.

Instead tell him, "What you did was not right and you hurt mommy for lying", and say, "Why don’t I help you find a more suitable present for your teacher". Support him a little bit in the way he was thinking, than maybe it won’t happen again.

If he continuously does it, and lies to you, than maybe you can punish him by taking something precious from him for a short period of time, telling him that "You do it to me, so I want to show you that it doesn’t feel good and that it’s not right". But again it has to be reasonable, not until he looses trust in you. Children can easily loose trust in their parents, and you don’t want that.
But to get there they would first have to go Casablanca and once they get there, they have to obtain exit visas which are not very easy to come by. Now the hottest spot in all of Casablanca is Rick’s Cafe which is operated by Rick Blaine, an American expatriate, who for some reason can’t return there, and he is also extremely cynical. Now it seems that two German couriers were killed and the documents they were carrying were taken. Now one of Rick’s regulars, Ugarte entrusts to him some letters of transit, which he intends to sell but before he does he is arrested for killing the couriers. Captain Renault, the Chief of Police, who is neutral in his political views, informs Rick that Victor Laszlo, the European Resistance leader, is in Casablanca and will do anything to get an exit visa but Renault has been “told” by Major Strasser of the SS, to keep Laszlo in Casablanca. Laszlo goes to Rick’s to meet Ugarte, because he was the one Ugarte was going to sell the letters to. But since Ugarte was arrested he has to find another way. Accompanying him is Ilsa Lund, who knew Rick when he was in Paris, and when they meet some of Rick’s old wounds reopen. It is obvious that Rick’s stone heart was because of her leaving him. And when they learn that Rick has the letters, he refuses to give them to him, because “he doesn’t stick his neck out for anyone”.

I have 100K Etihad Airways miles expiring soon but i dont know where I should book my tickets to, any ideas?
Destination Etihad is serving:

Almaty, Athens, Amman, Bahrain, Bangkok, Beijing, Beirut, Brisbane, Brussels, Cairo, Cape Town, Calicut, Casablanca, Chennai, Chicago, Cochin, Colombo, Damascus, Dammam, Delhi, Dhaka, Doha, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Istanbul, Jakarta, Jeddah, Johannesburg, Karachi, Katmandu, Khartoum, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait, Lahore, Larnaca, London Heathrow, Manchester, Manila, Melbourne, Minsk, Milan, Moscow, Mumbai, Munich, Muscat, New Delhi, New York, Paris, Peshawar, Riyadh, Singapore, Sydney, Tehran, Toronto, Thiruvananthapuram.
I mean as a holiday destination suggestion

It is a great time of year to travel. You can get nice summer weather in Sydney, Brisbane, Johannesburg, Cape Town, etc. I would personally go to Cape Town, if I could, as it is summer there, the costs are less than Johannesburg or Australia, and it is still quite rugged and natural a place to visit. On the other hand, Australia is more refined a destination, but would be more expensive.

To get a good winter trip, I might consider Frankfurt, Munich, or Toronto.

One could never go wrong in visiting London, or Paris, and I hear Beijing, Amman, and Bangkok are worthy travel destinations.

I could go on, but I am a traveler and love to go out and see the world. There are just too many places to list, and I don’t know your interests. If I were in the same position as you, I would simply think of my personal hobbies and interests, and then go to Wikipedia and research the cities you’ve mentioned to find one that has those hobbies or interests.

No matter where you go, I have a feeling it will be a great trip.

Cheers

The usual places everyone would like to see: London, New York, Paris and such. (just remember that if you choose paris you’ll need to know some french to talk to the locals)

Now, I have heard that Geneva is a beautiful and wonderful place to visit.

Istanbul, Delhi, Cairo, Sydney, Amman seem like travel channel places

if I were you I would narrow it down to your top ten favorite places and then do a little research about weather and then narrow it down agian then do some research about how expensive the place is (like hotels and food) then narrow it down again then do some research on what the sites to see are and narrow it down agian and just keep narrowing it down until you pick a place.

It would be hard to make a choice with all these places too.

I am planning to go to London in Feb. (it will probably be cold) and go to India in the summer

Why does America ignore good british bands?
I’ve never understood this, so far America have ignored.

The Stone Roses
The Sex Pistols
Oasis-selling over 75 millon records but barely anyone knows them outside wonderwall.
Pulp
Suede
Slade
The Jam
T Rex
The Prodigy
The La’s
Blur
Kasabian
The Libertines

There’s probably more

But then when bands like Coldplay and Radiohead come along people go mental for them.

What is it, do they sound bad to you?
different culture?
lol mate you read my mind. i was just about to add those two.
———————–
H
How can you say they all suck?
but worship the likes of Nickelback, My chemical romance, the jonas brothers, foo fighters, green day and so on.

Well yeah, THEY dont sound great.

But they accept real bands from Britain – Cradle of filth, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Def Leppard, Diamond Head, Guns and Roses.
Michael (Who is STILL like God?) | Feb 07, 2010

Those are like, mainly indie bands. Americans arent interested in that kind of music.
Saima | Feb 07, 2010

They all pretty much suck except for Oasis (most of their songs suck too).

Coldplay also sucks.

They just don’t sound good at all. I think it might be culture but I’m not sure… Thanks for Ozzy and the Beatles though.
JB | Feb 07, 2010

i listen to those bands the whole time. i don’t get it either. i know that kasabian said they will never tour in america. maybe their taste in music is backwards. i mean, slipknot are a popular band over there.

P.S add arctic monkeys and stereophonics to that list

As well as the fact it took america ages to recognise their own bands like kings of leon, the strokes and the killers. they’ve had success in the uk for ages
Ryan | Feb 07, 2010

 RUStuPID | Feb 07, 2010

I like The Stone Roses and The Sex Pistols but the rest of them are boring to me.
Maybe America ignores british bands because we aren’t in that country and don’t constantly hear about it. It doesn’t bother me any. We have plenty of good bands here. (or did at one point)
